At the end of the year, the price of pigs reaches a new peak every day, many localities urgently plan to reserve meat sources for the Lunar New Year 2020.

The Lunar New Year 2020 is approaching, consumption starts to rise sharply, pork price is also constantly increasing making consumers worried. Facing this situation, many localities are implementing many solutions to stabilize the market at the end of the year, especially pork.

An Giang: Shop is not allowed to raise prices

According to An Giang Department of Industry and Trade, over the past time, the situation of African swine cholera has been complicated, this disease has killed many pigs and caused great economic losses to the breeding households.

Up to now, the basic disease has been prevented, but due to the impact of the epidemic, the supply of goods has become scarce, the price of live hog has continuously soared recently.

Specifically, according to An Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, as of November 30, the province has 63,569 pigs in 3,289 breeding households. In which, there are about 33,400 pigs and about 9,730 piglets following the mother.

On average, there are about 1,000 pigs slaughtered every day for concentrated distribution for distribution in the province, of which, in the province, only meet about 40%; the rest have to be imported outside the province about 60% like Ben Tre, Vinh Long and Tien Giang.

The current retail price of pork at stores increased from 8,000 to 20,000 VND / kg compared to November 2019, sales volume decreased by 10-15% compared to the previous month due to skyrocketing pork prices, consumers. Having to switch to other substitutes such as cattle, poultry, beef, seafood, etc., the purchasing power of pork in the market will no longer increase.

In the near future, the Department of Industry and Trade recommends that shops participate in traceability of pork products operated by the Department such as Mega Market, Sau Cuc pork shop at My Binh market, Central pork shop at the market. Binh Khanh, Pho Thi pork shop in Dong Xuyen ward, ... stabilize pork prices at the store, do not increase prices suddenly.

At the same time, on December 10, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Tran Anh Thu, signed a Decision approving the Plan to build a pilot model of re-pig herd in the period when the African swine fever epidemic had no vaccine. vaccination.

Implementation time is from December 2019 to April 2020 in Chau Thanh, Thoai Son, Chau Phu, Cho Moi and 2 cities of Long Xuyen and Chau Doc.

Accordingly, An Giang will support 20 - 40 pig raising households to carry out rearing herds with the number of 400 pigs and a pig weight of over 15kg / pig. The total budget is over 1 billion VND, in which counterpart funding is 476 million VND.

Specifically, the maximum support level must not exceed VND 510,000 / child; the number of households receiving support is 20 - 40 breeding households, equivalent to supporting 10-20 piglets / household, the maximum support level is not more than 10.2 million VND / household. The seed has clear origin.

At the same time support 100% of the cost of buying vaccines, vaccination against diseases; expenses for buying ozone aerators to disinfect drinking water for pigs; expenses for testing samples of animal feed and raising environment before raising pigs and expenses for testing blood samples, after 30 days of rearing.

Subjects are supported when there is a need to re-herd, ensure biosafety breeding and have reciprocal capital when participating in the implementation, raising households in communes and towns that have run out of African swine cholera epidemic and fulfill the commitment that if pigs are reintroduced in the plan of the epidemic, they will not be supported to destroy.

Nghe An: Stabilizing the group of fresh food products

Nghe An newspaper informed that, based on consumer demand of about 3 - 10% of the province's population, it is expected that in the lunar new year, Ha Tinh market needs 3,380 tons of fresh meat, of which about 2,600 pork tons, beef 780 tons, chicken 780 tons.

According to the plan of implementing solutions to ensure the balance between supply and demand, stabilize the market at the end of 2019 and the Lunar New Year of the Lunar New Year 2020, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province has directed the functional industry and the localities to forecast and test. market control.

Specifically, monitor and evaluate the supply, demand and price of goods, especially essential goods, those with high price fluctuations in the management area to take the initiative in making plans.

Proposing to the functional agencies measures to ensure the balance between supply and demand, stabilize the market, prevent the shortage of goods, disrupt the supply of goods causing sudden price increases during the year-end and Lunar New Year.

Closely monitor the production situation, the evolution of the disease is African pig cholera, the disease situation on crops, take the initiative in making plans or proposing plans to ensure the supply and stabilize the market of commodities. agricultural products, essential food in general and pork in particular at the end of the year and Lunar New Year in the Year of the Rat.

Strengthening inspection, inspection and control of the market against smuggling, trade fraud, product quality, food safety regulations, acts of speculation, price increases, and compliance with Regulations of law on price, tax and fee management ...

Strictly handle violations according to the law and publicize it on the mass media ...

At the same time, it must be determined that at present, African swine cholera is happening complicatedly, greatly affecting production and consumption, and the risk of price increases is very high.

Therefore, in order to contribute to ensuring the supply and demand, stabilizing the market in the end of 2019 and the Lunar New Year, it is necessary to implement the stabilization of fresh food products including beef, pork and chicken.

Phu Yen: Requires markets and supermarkets to supplement the supply of pork

According to Phu Yen newspaper, to meet the demand of pork consumption during the Lunar New Year, the Department of Industry and Trade has worked with large suppliers such as Co.opmart, Vinmart, Gmart, and convenience store chains. Vmart ... requires a reserve plan as well as additional supplies of pork.

Industry and Trade also works with localities, directing market management to create conditions for traders to increase supply of pork of clear origin to serve the needs of consumers.

Specifically, up to this point, Co.opmart Tuy Hoa has prepared a supply of pork during the year-end peak period. Accordingly, in addition to the pork supply of local farms, the unit also prepares additional meat from pig farms in the south.

It is expected that by the time of Tet, every day the supermarket will supply about 2 tons of pork to the market. Besides, the unit also prepares other sources of fresh food, such as poultry, beef, fish, seafood ... so that consumers have more choices for Tet meals.

Meanwhile, Ms. Pham Thi Hang Vy, Vmart Superintendent's director, said that the rising price of pork makes supply difficult. Every day, the unit brings to the market half a ton of pork, at a stable price compared to traditional markets.

However, during the peak period of Tet holiday, it is expected that consumption will increase about 5-6 times, pork price will also increase by 30-40%.

Therefore, in addition to self-sufficient pigs from its farm, the unit also worked with farms in the same Green Feed pig system in Dak Lak, Binh Dinh and the South to supplement meat sources. pigs in case of spot scarcity.

In addition, the unit also cooperates with a number of local black pig farms to create more meat sources for the market.

Mr. Tran Van Tan, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said the current demand for pork in the province is about 33 tons / day. With the current pig herd of about 115,000, every day the market provides about 18 tons of meat, accounting for 55% of the demand in the province.

The rest is provided from neighboring provinces such as Dak Lak and southern provinces like Binh Duong, Dong Nai ...

Vinh Long: Recommend farmers to consider carefully when investing in the herd

Currently, many farmers are psychologically though "ham" pig prices are up, but worry about epidemic attack should be afraid to raise, not dare to re-herd. This makes the price of pigs at the end of the year more powerful, Vinh Long newspaper reported

Mr. Le Thanh Tung, Director of Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), said that currently, because of fear of lack of supply for Tet, farmers' psychology is confused, unstable, half. want to stop raising due to fear of recurrence of disease.

"Farmers should be calm, not in a hurry, need to consider carefully before investing in animal husbandry again. Only when farmers confidently raise in the direction of biosecurity, have a solution to prevent pathogens," Think again, "Mr. Le Thanh Tung recommends.

Dong Nai: Encouraging enterprises and animal husbandry establishments to meet the conditions of re-herd bio-security

In Dong Nai, manufacturing enterprises are now processing pork products to prepare for the Lunar New Year market in 2020.

According to Dong Nai newspaper, the demand for pork increases sharply while the supply is increasingly scarce due to the impact of African swine cholera causing the price of live hogs to set a new "peak" at 90,000 VND / kg.

Mr. Le Van Loc, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that a number of large enterprises in the livestock industry are planning to open more retail shops to the localities and are committed to stabilizing the price of pork and products from pork from December 20 to the Chinese New Year in 2020.

At the same time, the province also spent 30 billion dong from the budget to stabilize the price of pork during the Tet holiday.

According to Mr. Loc, Dong Nai currently exports an average of 7,000 pigs a day to the provincial market and Ho Chi Minh City, ensuring the supply of pigs to the market. The Department also strengthened the inspection and control of the market on speculation, raising prices or exporting unofficial pigs to China.

Although the price of live hogs has continuously set a new "peak", farmers are still quite cautious in re-herding because of great risks due to African swine cholera.

According to localities, there are very few breeding households who re-herd because in fact some households re-herd after the epidemic and relapsed. In these cases, they will not receive support from the state budget due to poor implementation of animal husbandry biosecurity as prescribed.

In particular, Bien Hoa City and Nhon Trach District do not have plans to develop cattle and poultry breeding, so most of pig households are now switching to other jobs.

Dong Nai Breeding Association Chairman Nguyen Tri Cong said that although the current spread of African swine fever has decreased, in fact, some provinces and cities have not succeeded because of recurrence.

In Dong Nai, the statistical association has more than 20 households successfully re-herd, the average size of these farms is about 300 birds / farm.

Also according to Mr. Cong, the plan to import pork to supply to the Lunar New Year market in 2020 is not too feasible because the preparation of import procedures and documents takes a whole month. The province should consider measures to increase the use of poultry meat and other meat sources.

Specifically, the increase in the price of pork makes chicken consumption now increase by about 20% compared to before. Businesses also need to pay attention to the diversity of processed products from chicken to better meet the market.
