From January 14, 2020, label animal feeds in a new way

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Circular No. 21, 2019, guiding a number of articles of the Law on Animal Husbandry on animal feed.

Accordingly, this Circular lists 25 chemicals, biological products, microorganisms banned from use in animal feed such as: Carbuterol; Cimaterol; Clenbuterol; Chloramphenicol; Diethylstilbestrol; Fenoterol; Isoxuprin ...

At the same time, the way of labeling of animal feeds is guided in detail as follows:

- Content shown on the label of animal feed: As prescribed in Appendix II issued with this Circular, including: Product name, nutritional ingredients or quality criteria, expiry date, date production, storage instructions, use ...

- Bulk animal feeds: Must be accompanied by documents when circulating, except for traditional unprocessed animal feeds and sold directly to farmers;

- Animal feeds on order, internal consumption with packaging: There is no need to label when circulating, but there must be signs on the packaging to identify, avoid confusion and have attached documents;

- Animal feeds containing veterinary drugs containing antibiotic ingredients for prevention and treatment of animals must include all information on the name, antibiotic content, instructions for use, and the time to stop using the product label. products or accompanying documents when circulating ...

This Circular was issued on November 28, 2019 and takes effect from January 14, 2020. Particularly, the animal feed label as prescribed in Circular No. 20/2017 / TT-BNNPTNT printed before the effective date of this Circular may continue to be used until the end of December 31, 2021.
